Kehewin Cree Nation Community -  Profile

The Kehewin Cree Nation #123 is located approximately 24 kilometers south of Bonnyville, in Northeastern Alberta.  The Kehewin Cree Nation land base is 8,212 hectares and Kehewin also shares another land base of 96 hectares with five other First Nations at Blue Quills College located 5 kilometers west of St. Paul, AB within the Treaty Six Territory.

 

The current population for Kehewin Cree Nation is 2104 members as of November 2016.

Kehewin members are mostly Plains Cree people that belong to the Linguistic Group called Algonquin Cree.

 

The Kehewin Cree Nation government is represented by the Chief and 6 Council members. Kehewin Cree Nation has a “Tribal Council Membership with Tribal Chiefs Ventures Inc and Confederacy of Treaty Six First Nations.”
